Search goal: Find Kristen’s biological mother
Kristen is an adoptee who reached out for help a few months back to find her biological mother. Her AncestryDNA test had matched her with a few paternal half siblings, so that side had been figured out. She also had non-identifying information about her biological mother, and Kristen knew her birth last name as well.
Kristen had a great top maternal match named Vera. After I looked over the non-identifying information and Vera’s tree, it was clear that Vera was a first cousin. Vera had four aunts that were possibilities to be Kristen’s biological mother. Three were still living.
Since we did not know the exact birth order of the siblings, I found Vera’s Facebook profile and encouraged Kristen to reach out to her cousin and a few other relatives in hopes someone would reply and be able to help further.
Only a day later, Vera responded to Kristen’s message and recognized the details and knew who her biological mother was. Vera helped Kristen get in touch with her half siblings, who in turn put Kristen in touch with her biological mother. They are very happy to be reunited and plan to meet in the future.
