Search goal: Identify Pierce’s biological father
Pierce reached out for help identifying his biological father. He had done an AncestryDNA test which revealed an NPE. Fortunately, his paternal matches were good which made for a quick ten minute search.
Pierce’s paternal matches, all which were under 400 centimorgans, split into three groups. I was able to find the most recent common ancestors of each group by just looking through the matches’ trees- I didn’t even have to build a research tree like I usually do.
I found the first union couple that connected two of the match groups, and then connected the third match group with a marriage of one of the children descended from the first union couple.
This brought me to a sibling set of two daughters and two sons. One son had passed before Pierce had been born, leaving the other son as the only possibility to be Pierce’s biological father. The resemblance between them was remarkable.
Unfortunately, his biological father had passed away a few years ago, but Pierce was glad to finally know his paternal origins and hopes to connect with other members of his family soon.
