Search goal: Find Tracy’s biological father

Tracy is an adoptee that was hoping to identify her biological father. She had done an Ancestry DNA test and had a ton of matches. However, due to some adoptions up her maternal side, she wasn’t sure which matches were from what side.

Tracy had a lot of matches, and the majority were from two groups that were German in ancestry. I quickly found the common ancestors that connected each group, and figured they were likely going to be Tracy’s paternal grandparents. Her top two matches were a granddaughter and a great granddaughter of this couple.

However, Tracy matched the great granddaughter slightly closer than the granddaughter, and I had a feeling that the great granddaughter was going to be Tracy’s half niece, and the granddaughter was Tracy’s full cousin. After a little bit of investigating further, it was determined that Tracy’s biological father is the grandfather of her top match. This was a quick one and Tracy is glad to have identified her biological father.
