Search goal: Find Kaia’s biological father

Kaia is an adoptee that needed some help finding her biological father. She had done an AncestryDNA test and matched with a full maternal uncle, which made tracking down her birthmother easy. However, she needed some help with her maternal matches.

Kaia’s paternal matches were decent, and split into two main groups- the Jones group, and the McGill group. Her top paternal match Pam was from the McGill group, and had a tree, so I started building a research tree to see if I could connect the two groups. I figured that the top match was also likely a first cousin of Kaia’s birth father.

After a little bit of digging, I found that Pam’s mother had a sister that married a man from the Jones family. They had three sons. After finding the obituary of Pam’s aunt, I discovered that Kaia’s birthmother was actually currently married to one of the men that was a potential birth father.

Kaia eventually connected with her birthmother, who did confirm that her husband is Kaia’s birthfather. This was a quick one and I am glad it had a positive conclusion.
