Search goal: Identify Pamela’s biological father

Pamela and her search angel Tara reached out for help earlier this year with her search. Pamela was adopted, and Tara had helped her identify her biological mother’s side already, which was great. They needed some help with the paternal side of things, and Pamela had done an AncestryDNA test already, so I was happy to take a look at things and see what we could find.

Pamela’s paternal matches split into two main groups: the Harper group and the Hodgeson group, both with very recent roots in England. She had several decent matches between the 100cm and 300cm range, which made finding common ancestor couples in each group quite easy.

From there, I worked back down both family trees and looked for the union couple that connected both families. I found it easily, and discovered that the union couple had moved to Canada from England and married in Ontario.

They had a very small family, just one son and one daughter, so we knew that their son had to be Pamela’s biological father, George Harper. Sadly, he had passed away several years earlier. There was a strong resemblance between Pamela and her paternal half siblings.

Pamela was pleased to have her biological paternal side filled out and looks forward to learning more about them in the future.
